Love For Misti Doi - Mother Dairy

Staying away from Kolkata for years now made me realise that nothing can beat Kolkata's misti (sweets) specially  MistiDoi. You definitely get "ghee mei duba sweets" everywhere but not like the ones in Kolkata! The ultimate love for bongs.As a child I used to call this as Lal Doi ( red yogurt) for its  colour. 

Misti Doi is usually set in a wet earthen pots after caramelising the milk with jaggery .

Back in those days Sunday lunch was never  completed without misti doi or rosogulla.  Those moments are long lost now.Its tough to get MISTI Doi outside Kolkata, not the same in taste.

But now you can manage your bongo cravings with Mother Dairy's misti doi.. 

This misti doi has definitely scored high because of shelf life longer than the regular ones. It taste exact same with creamy top layer which melts in the mouth  smoothly.Its definitely a winner for probasi bangali, or for someone like me who crave for Sweet Yogurt.

The sweet  smell of the yogurt  gives me a feeling of "Puja asche" Puja asche", May be because every bit of kolkata follows me.

Did you try out foodontrack app by IRCTC?  Its good. Many doesn't like the train pantry food  like me. They are costly  and taste pathetic. Whether you take veg thali or non-veg thali it kinda taste same and the money they charge is quiet a lot. We decided to  use this app to order our meal when we were traveling from Jamnagar to Kolkata.
From Veg /NonVeg thali to Dominoes Pizza you can order anything,but yes the station must have that restaurant available which will obviously show on the app.

You need to search with your PNR number. Plan your meal timing and order on that station.

I personally feel it saves a lot of money  and wastage. You can choose the amount of food you want to eat and pay. I think it is a must for every one if you are conscious about hygiene also.

Genuine Broaster Chicken Avani Riverside Howrah

Hey guys ! Its been long since I have posted anything. Life's been going crazy! will update that part later. Just came to Kolkata my hometown and the first thing my husband and I aimed for was food.☺☺

Have you tried Broaster Chicken? Just some days back  when I was at Avani Mall (Howrah)  trying to help myself with cravings, I thought of getting KFC bucket. But as usual the huge line and the delay was pathetic and pain in the butt. Just beside KFC I saw this food stall Genuine Broaster Chicken.  It looked tempting so thought of trying it out.

 We got the Bahubali Combo which had fries chunky fried chicken strips (boneless)  2 sodas and 3 different dip! The price came around 480 rs including tax.
Now my opinion on  the food.

The chicken strips were solid  boneless chunks,but it tasted bland! (salt was missing I guess) They could have made it little spicy as they say Indian Heart ! (why not spice it up)
Secondly the fries were extremely salty.
If I would like to come back again? Yes,but  I would like  to try out something spicy but not this Bahubali Meal.

7 Seas- NonVegetarian Restaurant in Jamnagar

This place is located in Teen Batti area.It is a part of President Hotel.If you are looking for a comfortable place to dine nonveg food with family this is the one you should visit. Weekends get extremely crowded and you may need to wait in a queue. When you are in a place like Jamnagar where you won't get any non-veg food restaurant ,this will be a heaven for you and you won't get much scope to complain.
We generally order rice or noodles with chicken as side dish. For starters we did try out kebabs few times but they were not up to the mark. It was little chewy and less  juicy.But yes you get Kebabs too both  Chicken n Mutton and also seafood .
I usually visit this place with my husband for dinner once a month just for a change. Again this is the only fine dining non-veg restaurant in Jamnagar.
Surprisingly I have seen many Gujarati people eating nonveg here and then claiming to be vegetarian.
Price is ok not very high and you won't be dumped with taxes. The quantity of food which they serve is little less compared to the price they charge.

Mr Egg -Non Vegetarian Restaurant In Jamnagar

Jamnagar is completely a vegetarian city. Infact it is very tough to get house for rent if you are nonvegetarian. For those who cannot live without non veg food like me ,need to hunt for house that do allow cooking nonveg food. I found few hotels and restaurant that serves non veg food in Jamnagar and I am  going to post them up on my blog page and Mr Egg Food Restaurant is one of them. 

Location :  second floor of the Apurva Plaza. Near NEO Square  PN Marg, Jamnagar 361008.

It's little tough to locate the restaurant as  there isn't much hoarding around. But 150 delicious egg is what they promise to serve their customer. It is open  7 days a week from 11am-11pm
The food was tasty and not too spicy, we bought  egg biriyani and egg fried rice which cost around rs 120 and rs 99.It also offers candle light dinner every wednesday.
 I would rate this restaurant 4 out of 5 and also planning to  try out there American Rabdi which is made with cheese and egg yolk. 
They also offer home delivery within 3 km
